FUBAR came out of the American military in the Second World War and never really left. British Forces took it, kept it, and quietly improved it. Ask around and you will get the polite expansion, Fecked Up Beyond All Repair, and then somebody will offer the version everybody actually uses, Fecked Up By Assholes in the Rear. The acronym survives because it is the shortest possible summary of a bad day that nobody planned and nobody could fix. Veteran-owned means we have reached for it ourselves more times than is strictly dignified, which is why the design states it plainly rather than dressing it up in slogans about heroism. The print is direct-to-garment, laid into the fabric rather than sat on top of it, so the letters stay sharp instead of cracking apart after one winter.
